Park Divisions

  1. Dinsho:

Itinerary

Depending on your time of arrival, you will be received by our guide and transferred to your hotel. On this day, you will have the opportunity to visit the National Museum, the Ethnological Museum, and the Oromo Cultural Centre. After lunch, head to Mount Entoto for a panoramic view of the metropolis. Dinner at the hotel.

Early in the morning, you will be heading to Dinsho by our comfortable vehicles. You will arrive in time just for a leisurely afternoon hike, possibly spotting the huge number of endemic antelope families such as: Menelik’s Bushbuck and the Mountain Nyala. Birds in this area include the Blue-Winged Goose, the Spot- breasted Lapwing, the Abyssinian Long Claw, the wattled Ibis, the Black-Headed Siskin, Rouget’s rail, and numerous other species. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

After breakfast, we drive to Sanetti Plateau above 4000 meters, with Afro-alpine Moor land, beautiful wild alpine scenery. Chance to see the rare and endangered Canid species Ethiopian Wolf, Abyssinian Hare, water birds like Blue-winged Goose, Ruddy shell duck, Wattled Crane, and others. After lunch continues to the Southern part of the park to Harenna forest which is the largest Tropical rainforest in the country, take a walk to waterfall and Bamboo trail. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

After breakfast start hiking in the forest trails to spot the endemic Bale Monkey, Colobus Monkey, birds   such as; Yellow Fronted Parrot , Orioles, white checked Turaco and more. Hike for 3-4 hrs. and also you will visit Manyate Coffee village which is found in Harenna forest, experience the Wild forest coffee beans gathering method, test the organic Coffee inside the forest and more with locals, and return back to BML overnight. On this day we may have a chance to spot Abyssinian Black Manned Lion. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge

Early in the morning, depart from Goba to the Sof Omar Caves. The Sof Umar caves are about 110 kilometres from Robe town. This cave system is one of the largest cave systems in Africa. Sof Umar caves are a reputed historical Islamic heritage site. The Webb River cuts through a deep gorge and into the rock formation creating a mass of chambers and tunnels that visitors can explore. The most famous spot of the caves is the Chamber of Columns, with limestone pillars up to 20m high. From the entrance, you will follow a trail through several other chambers; The birdlife in the area is very abundant. Afterward, continue to Robe for overnight.

After breakfast we drive to Dirre Sheikh Hussen shrine for cultural tour. The Shrine of Sheikh Hussein is one of Oromia’s major sites of culture tourism It is about 180 kilometres from Robe city along the road passing through the towns of Jarra and Dallo Sabro. You will see the impressive white coloured and cone shaped domes of tombs and mosques scattered throughout the site and supposedly built 360 years ago. The biggest of these belonged to the Sheik and has a walled compound.

Last day Drive back to Addis Ababa with stops on the way at Rift Valley Lakes
